Let's talk Better Performance:
A sleek dual battery frame, hand built in Taiwan or Portugal, makes this bike a looker that will take you the distance. 1000 Wh of total battery capacity. You might be asking, "Doesn't Bosch offer a 625 Wh battery? Why aren't they using those?" Riese & Muller didn't want to compromise comfort and efficiency just to add a couple more miles. They prioritized your ride experience over the easy marketing play of a massive amount of distance. We should also mention that the frame is a slightly smaller at 47 cm, and more friendly to our shorter riders. And the front rack doesn't move with the steering! So put that laptop up front without fear of it falling off when you make a sharp turn.
The Bosch Performance Speed motor now provides 75 Nm of torque, which makes it one of the most powerful on the market. The Gen 4 Speed Motor is lighter and offers an unprecedented 340% assist. Compare this to the 2019 model that rocked out at a less powerful 63 Nm.
To boot, Riese & Müller updated the Control Technology: their single pivot point full suspension system on the 2020 Superdelite. The single pivot point ensures way less pedal-bob in comparison to other suspension systems. In the long run, you'll have less maintenance, and a comfier ride. Riese & Muller designs their suspension systems surrounding comfort and safety, as opposed to traditional full-suspension setups that focus on downhill speed.
The model we rode uses a Rohloff hub, which means your gear ratio is wider and your shifting is smoother, especially when the terrain gets rough. Additional features include an improved ABUS alarm lock for safekeeping in the city, and a GX option for bikepackers which gives you knobby tires, better pedals, and a dropper seatpost that pair well with the option for a rack on the back. Racks on racks, baby.
Pick Your Powerhouse:
The 2020 Superdelite GT Touring Bike is Riese & Muller's most traditional model, with a Gen 4 motor to reach speeds up to 20 mph at 300% assist. Also equipped with a Shimano Deore XT 11-speed derailleur.
Up your speed with the Superdelite GT Touring HS bike. Remember: there's no compromise this year with the speed motor. You get 28 mph and 75 Nm of torque.
The Superdelite GT Vario uses the Enviolo 380 Custom internal gear hub that allows you to shift gears even when you're not pedaling, and it requires practically no maintenance. Done and done.
Superdelite GT Vario HS offers the same convenience, with higher speeds and assists.
Riese & Muller's Superdelite GT Rohloff variation carries the E-14 speed hub, which is extremely user-friendly. With one push of a button, operate this failure-free shifting system whether or not you're in motion.
Once again, this model is offered with a speed motor on the Superdelite GT Rohloff HS.
Riese & Muller also offers a Superdelite GT Mountain Touring edition, that has suspension with more travel, and geometry that's better suited for mountain biking.
Any last words?
It's official. Riese & Muller's 2020 Superdelite is lighter, sleeker, and packs more of a punch. That's why it's superdelite-ful. A more compact, battery-integrated frame is fit with full suspension. This means you're in great hands for a beautiful, winding ride. Maybe not so suited for steep downhills, but that's okay, because you wouldn't want your goods to fly out from both your front and optional back rack. The control technology ensures better traction at any speed, and the 75 Nm torque will give you just that. Keep on the rocky path, as your ride becomes seamless with a Rohloff hub for e-shifting. Bonus! Riese & Muller have offered a smartphone hub option to replace a separate battery display.
