2017 Haibike Xduro Hardseven 6.0 Review

The new 2017 Haibikes have arrived at San Diego Fly Rides! We’ve drooled over these electric bikes for the last few months and were all stoked to get to ride them. Just about every bike has seen some significant improvements. In this post, we’ll focus on the 2017 Haibike Xduro Hardseven 6.0. Enjoy our review!

The biggest upgrade is the 100 watt hour bump in battery life to 500 watt hours. This means you’re getting a much longer ride, about a 20% improvement on last year. You’ll also notice the Magura MT4 Hydraulic brakes are an improvement on all of the 2016 Hardseven trims except for the Carbon Frame. Speaking of that, I think it was a good idea for Haibike to nix the Hardseven carbon. I think by streamlining and focusing on just a few bikes in their Nine/Seven series Haibike has made the research process less complicated. The bikes will benefit from this too.

The Bosch Intuvia Display

The RockShox Yari RC fork is a solid upgrade from some the Hardseven trims last year. It provides 120mm of travel which is plenty for the type of roads you’d want to ride on this bike. It also offers a lockout feature, which some of last years Hardsevens did not have. I love this because it gives the rider the opportunity to have a more rigid feel on paved roads if you want to use it for commuting or road riding.

Magura MT4 Hydraulic Disc Brakes

When you hop on this bike, you can feel the improvements of the overall geometry of the bike. It’s a very comfortable and open ride. I took it on some bumpier roads, and bike path, and up a 12% grade. The 75 nm of torque offered by the Bosch motor made the hills super easy, even if you were starting from a stop. It’s really nice to have the front suspension on trails. It really helps when you do decide to take off-road bike…well, off-road. I would definitely feel comfortable on beginner to intermediate single track trails with this bike.

Overall, Haibike has done it again. They continue to improve, making better and better bikes every year.
